The George Institute for Global Health, as part of the Nuffield Department of Women’s & Reproductive Health at the University of Oxford, is seeking a high calibre researcher to lead a global program of work related to health systems science, with a particular focus on low and middle-income country settings.

The George Institute for Global Health at the University of Oxford is situated within the Nuffield Department of Women’s & Reproductive Health, in the Medical Sciences Division at the University of Oxford.
The Nuffield Department of Women’s & Reproductive Health (NDWRH) is one of the largest and most successful academic departments in the world in its field. NDWRH encompasses multi-disciplinary research across the full spectrum of women’s health. Their work has four overarching themes: Cancer, Global Health, Maternal & Fetal Health and Reproductive Medicine & Genetics.
Health Systems Science is a dynamic and emerging discipline that includes health services research, health policy and systems research and implementation science. This newly established role may include undertaking analyses of health system performance in various countries, developing and testing health systems interventions, developing new partnerships with key stakeholders and advocating for evidence-informed policy changes.
You will grow and provide leadership to the nascent health systems science initiatives at the George Institute at the University of Oxford, as well as contribute to and support the growth of the George Institute in the UK more generally, as part of the senior leadership team.
You will work closely with staff in the George Institute’s offices in Sydney, India and China, and engage with emerging health systems groups at Oxford University to overcome the challenges of delivering affordable, high quality health services and programs to underserved communities globally.
You will have an outstanding international reputation for innovative research in health policy analysis and/or health services research and/or implementation science and evaluation of complex interventions
Your strong track record of academic success and expertise in working in low- and middle-income countries will be complimented by your excellent skills in managing global collaborations and multidisciplinary research teams.
